Y.E.S. Initiative
Youth Employment Services
(Y.E.S) initiative was proposed by the Department of Trade and Industry in March
as an amendment to the B BBEE Codes of Good Practice. It is a government collaboration to provide workplace experience to unemployed youth, allowing companies to build a succession pipeline for their organisations.
Benefits of Yes Initiative
Unemployed youth receive an opportunity to work for an organisation for 12 months improving their chance of employment after the 12 months. There are numerous benefits for the youths including workplace experience, the opportunity of being employed by the organisation, contactable references, and additional experience on their cv.
